Custom Fonts

Nike
Custom variable font for the Olympic Games of Paris 2024.

When Nike approached us in 2022 for a new typeface during the Olympics 2024, the brief was clear: they wanted something different. It’s no wonder they chose Pizza Typefaces; their fonts brim with customisable fun and a refined (yet juvenile) quality. “Nike’s art directors were very specific; they didn’t want the usual bold sports fonts or anything tied to French clichés,” says co-founder Adrien Midzic. “They wanted a font that, like the Olympics, could unite people, suggest movement, and evoke the pleasure we experience through sport.”
With this idea to break the conventions of bold fonts to promote unity and movement and needing to be usable both on athletes' jerseys and on merchandise, we decided to develop a variable font that would allow the amount of movement in the letters to be defined.
