Informations

Nuqtra Typeface نقطرة عربي is a biscript typeface designed to support both Arabic and Latin languages. It is both the ripe fruit and the spicy starter of a collaboration with our native Lebanese type designer friend, Studio Nem. Nuqtra seeks to create harmony resonating across two distinct cultures — like a typographic bridge stretched between the shores of a single word. The Arabic script features a contemporary, narrow design, with an italic slanted to match the angle of the Latin — a gesture of visual coherence… and mutual respect between alphabets (yes, even letters have their own etiquette). The Latin draws inspiration from the strict geometry of DIN, but takes its distance: the strokes are more contrasted, more organic, less rigid — as if she had dusted itself off and taken a deep breath. It feels fresher, more alive. The two scripts coexist with deliberate visual harmony, whether side by side, upside down, or dancing in gentle multilingual chaos.
Nuqtra offers a versatile character, available in a refined range of weights with alternates glyphs set and designed as a variable font — for greater freedom, subtlety, and typographic microdances. Where two cultures meet, the message remains the same. But the voice becomes double.
